The Art Center is going to raffle off five studios on the third floor. The first studio will be raffled off Friday, March 9, 2007 7:30 PM. To get a ticket you must submit an entry to our monthly All Media Show in February or March. You get one ticket per entry, up to three tickets per show. The maximum amount of tickets anyone may have would be six. You don't have to be present to win.
A second studio will be raffled off with tickets from the next two shows, April and May with the drawing being Friday, May 11, 2007 7:30 PM. We will raffle off one studio every two months throughout 2007. Studios must be used for work and/or exhibition, not storage or anything else.
We spent the whole summer fixing up the third floor and someone is going up there. There are 21 studios on the third floor, seven are rented. It's a great space. The studios to be raffled are 303, 306, 307, 308 and 309. Each is 12' x 22' or 264 square feet, retail for $70 per month. You get a one year lease.
So why raffle off studios on the third floor?
When we first moved into the building July 2003 we thought we had heat and
a/c on the third floor, and both elevators were working. A lot of studios
were rented on the third floor. Once we realized there was no a/c, no heat,
all the sockets were in the ceiling and both elevators went out the third
floor got awfully empty. Now two years later, we have one elevator working,
every studio has a socket and we will have some kind of heat up there by next
year. But nobody is going up there and it's a great space that needs to be
used.
